Barely three days to the submission of completed forms, the leaders of the 28 groups that raised funds and secured expression of interest and nomination forms for the President, Africa Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, are yet to get his approval.
It was gathered that the group was yet to meet and discuss with the former Minister of Agriculture their intention to draw him into the 2023 presidential race.
The schedule of activities as released by the party shows that the sale of nomination forms ends tomorrow, while all aspirants are expected to submit completed forms with accompanying documents by Wednesday.
Indication of this came to the fore yesterday as leaders of the coalition group that paid the N100 million admitted that they were yet to contact Adesina, who is currently in Abidjan, in Cote d’Ivoure, the headquarters of the continental financial institution.
A leader of one of the 28 groups and founder of Youth Arise Movement (YAM), Mr. Babatunde Ademola, yesterday confirmed the challenges being faced in reaching out to their preferred candidate.
