Polo players based in the country are set to rekindle their rivalry as the 2022 NPA Ibadan Polo International tournament gallops off on the 16th to 22nd May in the ancient city of Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
The President of the Ibadan Polo club, Captain Koyinsola Owoeye revealed that the 2022 edition of the tournament will attract eminent personalities, players in the game across the country.
This information was released during a press conference held on Tuesday at the Ibadan Polo Club, Eleyele road, Ibadan.
The organizers further revealed that the Ade Alakija Cup tournament is played to honour the memory of the former Ibadan Polo captain while the Brigadier Oluwole Rotimi Cup tournament is in honour of the former Governor of the Old Western State.
The Organizers stated that preparations are in top gear to commemorate the 2022 anniversary, adding that the tournament is going to be captivating and interesting.
“All the horses on the stable are in good condition and the tournament will be full of fanfare with interesting packages for families, children and ladies. Array of sponsors such as Lead City University, Nestle, Access Bank are fully supportive”.
Expected to grace the event includes the Governor of Oyo, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Lekan Balogun among other dignitaries.
