In a rather dramatic twist of political arrangement within the Oyo State chapter of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), a three-term senator, Chief Teslim Folarin has secured the ticket of the party to contest the fast-approaching 2023 gubernatorial election.
The primary election, which was held at the historical Liberty Stadium, now Obafemi Awolowo Stadium on Friday was attended by selected delegates.
A kind of re-accreditation and ‘harmonization’ had earlier been carried out at an event center (Jogor) not too far from the stadium.
It was at this point, according to respondents who spoke with PMParrot, that one of the fore-runners, Chief Adebayo Adelabu started to technically lose out.
Throughout the time PMParrot covered the shadow election, Adelabu was not sighted.
At the end of the day, Senator Teslim Folarin was able to gather 954 votes while his main challenger, Chief Adebayo Adelabu got 327 votes.

Earlier on Thursday, Barrister Adeniyi Akintola, SAN, told a well-attended press conference that he was pulling out of the contest saying that ‘the arrangement on ground shows that the processes have been hijacked.’
In his acceptance speech, Senator Teslim thanked all his supporters and urged fellow contestants to cooperate with him in order for the party to win the gubernatorial election in the state next year.
He also said he was dedicating his victory to God and to his late wife, Barrister Angela Folarin.
All is now set for an epic battle between Senator Folarin and Engineer Seyi Makinde, the incumbent governor of Oyo State who, two days ago also secured the ticket of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
