The coast is now clear for the commencement of the Oyo State gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
Delegates across the 33 local governments in the state have been arriving at the venue after being screened at the nearby Jogor Event Centre.
The gubernatorial primary election, which was supposed to have been held on Thursday was rescheduled till Friday due logistics.
The electoral panel, led by Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi started the accreditation for the delegates by 8 o’clock in the morning at Jogor Event Center before they were being transported in batches to the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, venue of the exercise.
Out of six aspirants who are jostling for the APC governorship ticket, only one, Chief Niyi Akintola has been confirmed to have pulled out of the race over alleged manipulation of delegates lists.
The race is now among five aspirants, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Senator Teslim Folarin, Bar Akeem Agbaje, Engr. Hakeem Alao and Dr. Azeez Adeduntan.
