A Non Political Group, the Balm In Gilead Foundation For Sustainable Development has urged women in Ekiti State to shun political apathy during the state’s gubernatorial election on Saturday.
The Executive Director for the organization stated this in Ado Ekiti on Friday while urging women in the state to mobilize themselves enmass on Saturday to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice.
She said, “Women should not just sit down or be sleeping at home. They should also add their voices to leadership and governance by coming out to vote for the person of their choice and in case of any violence in their polling units, we have a toll-free line that they can call to report.
Continuing, “The stop violence campaign has a situation room in partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC situated at the Headquarters along Ikere Ekiti road. Every service provider is ready to receive distress calls and to attend to it swiftly. Anybody can call into our toll free line on 08003003333”.
She, however, charged the women of the state not to fear coming out to cast their votes because of violence on the election day.
