The executive committee of the prestigious Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) has appointed Oyinlola Omajuwa and three others to form the caretaker committee that will steer the affairs of the Ladies Section of the club pending further directives.

The action according to the letter signed by the club’s secretary, Seyi Alaba is in line with the article 13:3:1-5 of the club’s constitution, which unanimously nominated Ms. Omolaraeni Olaosebikan, Mrs. Dorcas Oluwatunmise, Mrs. Lizzy Afonja, a former Lady Captain and Mrs. Oyinlola Omajuwa as head of the committee.

Omajuwa in her acceptance speech pledged to restore the past glory of this section by operating an open door policy and all-inclusive procedure which involves carrying along the ladies in the section’s deliberations and discussions.

“I’m overwhelmed with your support and confidence in me, and while thanking you for your support, I want to assure you that I and my team will ensure that all ladies will be carried along in all the section’s deliberations and discussions. I also assure you that all efforts shall be made to restore the past glory of this section, but please note that we cannot succeed without your full support”, Omajuwa noted.

Meanwhile the club will this weekend host almost 180 golfers when the Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament that will usher in Tunji Oladosu as the new captain of the club gets underway on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 June 2022.

Oladosu, has, however, promised to do everything within him and Omajuwa to sustain the rich golfing tradition of Ibadan Golf Club while assuring golfers that will be participating at the inaugural tournament an exciting moment and warm hospitality of IGC.
