The National President, Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Dr. Kayode Oluwamotemi has warned Ekiti residents to desist from patronizing unlicensed surveyors.

He stated this during the 56th Annual General Meeting conference of NIS held in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital.

Dr. Kayode further warned the residents of the state not to patronize quack surveyors who lack practicing license, charging them to be cautious of surveyors who intend to render professional services at a ridiculously lower rate.

He said, “Do not patronize quack surveyors, who are not licensed, a licensed surveyor has a seal.  Anybody who promises to do a survey at a cheap price cheap is a quack”.

Speaking further, Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Aare Muyiwa Olomilua stated that there are rules and regulations guiding the association against quackery while affirming that efforts are being put in place to reduce quackery in the profession.

In addition, the National Coordinator of Women in Survey, Surveyor Mrs. Damilola Olokila, said, “In the recent times, some group of people went to the media and formed an association of Technologists, affiliating themselves with Surveyors, this is unacceptable. We are standing firm and we will not relent until we expunge them from our profession”.
