Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Crongess (NLC) in Ekiti state have expressed their displeasure over the lackadaisical attitude of the federal government to the plight of striking university lecturers in the country.
The leaders made this known during a state-wide protest march to support ASUU’s prolonged strike action.
The protest, which disrupted free flow of traffic affected motorists and commuters who were stranded for hours.
Speaking, the NLC Chairman, Comrade Kolapo Olatunde stated that the day’s protest was a tip of the iceberg while urging the federal government to do the needful.
Students union representatives who were also there further expressed disappointment over the federal government’s insensitivity to the plight of the lecturers while describing the action of the government as disrespectful and inhuman.
