The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has appealed to aggrieved members of the party in Ekiti State to sheathe their swords for the progress of the party.
He further stated that the party must be hijacked from the claws of the cabals who have held the party to ransom while appealing to aggrieved members of the party in the state to forgive the party leadership for the crisis that rocked the party in the past.
He said, “We cannot achieve anything in a state of disunity because we need to be united to move our party forward, I apologize to you to let go of the past and join hands together to strengthen our union. We need to vote out APC for the sake of the progress of Nigeria because the APC lacks the capacity to bring any positive change”.
Arapaja stated this during his visit to Ekiti state to welcome thousands of aggrieved members who joined the SDP prior to the state governorship election.
Speaking further, Senator Biodun Olujimi saluted the courage of the aggrieved members for returning to the party, describing their decisions as signal of a new dawn for the party.
Olujimi said, “We all have our blames because some of us did not do well, some of us kept mute when we were supposed to speak even in the face of impunity.
“We can start all over again and put ourselves together. The Atiku / Okowa presidency is what can bring succor to us. They are the ones who will effect a change for us in this country. I want to urge us all to come back to the party in order to win during the next general elections”.
Speaking further, Ondo State PDP gubernatorial candidate in the last election, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede, (SAN) stated that he is assured that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will win the 2023 presidential election while urging the people to be optimistic.
In addition, a party Stakeholder in Ekiti State, Honourable Wale Ayeni lamented the poor condition of the party in the state stating that the aggrieved members left the party due to internal wrangling within the party.
