The Ekiti State police command has paraded 29 suspected criminals arrested in connection with armed robbery, kidnapping, oil bunkering, cultism and illegal possession of firearms.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abutu Sunday stated that the suspects were citizens of Niger Republic who engaged in crimes through the collaboration of their Nigerian counterparts.
The PPRO further stated that the gang of hoodlums stormed Fayose market and broke into six different shops and carted away numerous items such as handsets, laptop computers and phone accessories.
He stated that the command’s discreet investigation led to the arrest of Yakubu Ibrahim, Abdulwaheed Ismaila popularly known as Bigger of Niger Republic and Akinmonrin Ibukun of Ogbomoso in their criminal hideout in Lagos State.
He added that the command also arrested Ajewole Peter, A.K.A, Peter Ifaki, for his involvement in armed robbery and for terrorizing the residents of Ekiti State adding that ten other suspects were arrested for involvement in cultism, burglary theft.
The PPRO stated that the suspects confessed to the acts during interrogation revealing that the arrested suspects will be arraigned accordingly in the court of law.
