The atmosphere was somber as the remains Major General Abdullahi Atanda Muraina (retd), who passed away on Friday, September 2nd was being buried according to Islamic rites in the United Arab Emirates.
He was laid to rest on Saturday, September 3, 2022 following the janazah prayers at Sharjah, Dubai. The burial prayers and activities commenced at 4:30pm UAE time at Al Sahaba Mosque and his wife, Alhaja Aibat and two of his children were reportedly present as he was laid to rest.
Earlier on Saturday, before his burial, a message got to PMParrot inviting us to the burial via zoom.
Yet to be confirmed information at our disposal said there “will be a grand celebration of the departed gallant soldier and a gentleman after the eighth day Fidau Prayer on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at a yet to be confirmed venue in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.”
Visitors have since been thronging the Murainas’ Lagos and Ibadan homes to offer condolences and to celebrate the Ibadan-born professional.
