There are days and there are days, however, Monday, 29th of August, 2022 will remain indelible in the memory of the popular juju music star, Apostle Yinka James popularly called Adonai.
This is because it was a day the who is who in the society, socialites, movers and shakers in the entertainment industry thronged the prestigious Felicia hall, Jogor Centre, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State to celebrate the 50th birthday of the iconic musician.
Immediately after the opening prayer, the opening hymm was taken from the C & S hymn 134 performed by the church choir and the only lesson was read by the celebrant.

Sermon was delivered by the pastor in charge, Molete Baptist Church, Idi Odo, Revd Edward Kehinde Alabi.
While preaching, the notable cleric said “I thank the wife of the celebrant Oluwakemi Asabi for her support and for helping him to be his natural self”. He also said 50 years is a year to rest and prayed that the celebrant will live in abundance and will be saved from all chaos of life.
Immediately after the Sermon, Holy communion was served as a symbol of long life to the celebrant and this session was administered by Pastor Bola Oyediran and the family of Apostle Yinka James came out for their thanksgiving while Prophet Dr. Timothy Oyekunle prayed for the celebrant and his family.
Shortly after the prayers, family and friends moved to Jogor Centre, the venue of the reception and foods and drinks were lavishly served.
The celebrant in his welcome speech thanked God the Almighty for keeping him alive and healthy.
The chairman of the day, Chief Tokunbo James described the celebrant as a hard working and honest man that cherishes God and puts Him first in all his dealings.
Enitan Olusegun Bamidele (EOB) a popular radio presenter and others who spoke about Yinka James eulogized him and attested to his uprightness and sincerity of purpose in life.
Also, Association of Juju Musicians of Oyo State (AJUM) was invited to the stage to celebrate and present gift to the celebrant followed by others that had gifts for him.
Later, the celebrant, Adonai was invited to the stage to respond to all that was said. While speaking, he gave glory to God for keeping him alive to witness his 50th birthday and also thanked everyone present at the occasion. Yinka James also gave special thanks to his family for always being by his side. He specially recognized his wife, Asabi.
After the celebrant’s speech, chairman of the occasion, Bar. Tokunbo James directed the cutting of the cake.
Chairman, Extension Publications, Otunba Sunday Omoniyi Obiyinka, Chairman, YES FM Radio, Yemi Sonde, Mr Clement Ige, Hon Diran Odeyemi, Taiwo Omotunde including other renowned entertainers like Adegbodu twins, Femi Solar, Woli Agba (Ayo Ajewole) and other dignitaries from all over the world graced the event.
Dj Sexy played melodious tunes while Oluwagbemiga Kelvin was the master of ceremony. Mega 99 and Kemi Rehoboth Musical Band featured live and rendered melodious songs to the admiration of all guests.
