Ahead of the 62nd Independence celebration, Nigerians have been charged to shun divisive tendencies.
Speaking with a team of journalists from the state Ministry of Information and Values Orientation in Ado Ekiti, the President of the State chapter of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, Alhaji Afolabi Bakare said Nigeria should remain as one indivisible entity, adding that those clamoring for secession and disintegration do not have the interest of the nation at heart.
He said Nigeria should draw strength from its size and population, noting that development can only thrive in unity and common front.
The cleric charged Nigerians and other religious leaders to ceaselessly pray for a divine turnaround amidst her various challenges On the new administration coming on board in Ekiti State, he said the Muslim community expects appointment to key positions, coupled with all-round development.
He described Mr Abiodun Oyebanji as a round peg in a round hole, having served the state in strategic positions in the past.
