Former coach of Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has blamed the immediate past President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick for Nigeria’s World cup miss.
The 2022 World Cup will commence in Qatar this weekend without Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their playoff defeat to the Black Stars of Ghana.
The German gaffer spoke on Eagles FM radio sports show anchored by Osasu Obayuwana on Tuesday afternoon and he further said he regretted not taking the team to Qatar.
“I regret that I did not take my team to win the World Cup, I regret that my players will not be at the World Cup even though they deserve to be there.
“It was not my decision, it was a decision by Pinnick and his board.
“Pinnick said my dismissal will avert a disaster, but in the end he created the disaster that cost Nigeria the ticket to the World Cup,” he told Eagle FM Radio.
