The Governor of the Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria, (GOMAN) Oyo state chapter and prominent politician, Lady Evangelist Kemi Jayeoba has revealed how she has been combining her present assignments and roles at home and on the political arena.
Lady Jayeoba made these revelations while featuring on a weekly radio show, Parrot Xtra Hour on Radio’ anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on Splash 105.5FM, Felele Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State on Tuesday.
She submitted that the grace and mercy of God have been following her in her travels through life adding that it is not very easy being a musician, a GOMAN leader, a woman leader of a prominent political party a mother who must keep her home.
The Lady Evangelist said “It is not easy multitasking. We were in Oyo Town on Monday to kick start the All Progressives Congress campaign for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin both contesting for the presidential and gubernatorial seats respectively next year by God’s grace. I got back and attended to other issues, now I am here on your radio show.”
She also spoke about how she ventured into music. Her words: “I was specially called by God into the music ministry and not to be a church owner. When I heard the call, I did not take it seriously, I later found out that things were not going on smoothly again because of my disobedience”.
She further stated that her first hit album, ‘Durodoluwa’ which, was released in the year 2000 became a major hit and eventually sold over 400, 000 copies then.
Evangelist Kemi Jayeoba, who served as the Oyo State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives, and Tourism under the Senator Rasheed Ladoja administration further assured Nigerians that the recurring fuel challenges facing the country will soon be a thing of the past.
She said, “We are going through a phase which is not peculiar to Nigeria alone, very soon fuel scarcity challenge will be sorted out in our country”.
She further assured Nigerians that the 2023 election will be devoid of crisis while urging politicians to give peace a chance and desist from unnecessary propaganda, destruction of campaign billboards, and use of thugs, which is capable of undermining the conduct of peaceful election in the country.
She emphasized, “Politicians should focus on what they have to offer to the electorate and focus on issue-based campaigns. The electorate should hold politicians accountable for their words and promises and what they stand to benefit if the party is voted into power.
Speaking further, she stated that she is optimistic that the best candidates will emerge as the President of the country and Governor of Oyo state respectively.
Speaking on her future ambition, “I have an ambition of contesting election in the future, though I am relying solely on God for direction”.
