Ligue 1 club, OGC Nice, have tabled an improved bid of €18m to sign Nigerian striker, Terem Moffi.

According to L’Équipe, Nice had initially offered €15m for the striker who has been in rich vein of form for Lorient this season scoring 11 goals Ligue 1 goals for his club.

His latest strike was a sublime finish against Monaco on Wednesday, which ultimately earned his side a point.

The report also revealed that Moffi already has an agreement in place to join Nice. That agreement was reportedly struck on New Year’s Eve.

Meanwhile, talks between the clubs are ongoing with Premier League sides also circling.

According to L’Équipe, Southampton and West Ham United have both made opening offers for Moffi, and both of them have been rejected by Les Merlus.

Nigerian forward Moffi has enjoyed a blistering first half of the Ligue 1 season. Only Kylian Mbappe has scored more than his 11 goals in the French top flight so far.

Those performances have caught the eye of Les Aiglons, who are looking to bring in reinforcements in order to jumpstart their stalling season.

However, Lorient are reportedly looking for €30m for the player that they signed for just €8m from KV Kortrijk back in 2021.

Les Merlus are, however, aware that this fee may be difficult to obtain given that the Nigerian’s contract will expire at the end of next season.

The player himself is keen to continue his development in France, rather than move abroad, according to L’Équipe.
