All Set For Lagelu Grammar School Ibadan To Hold 65th Anniversary

One of the most elitist institutions of learning in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, Lagelu Grammar School is set to hold her 65th anniversary celebrations on Friday 27th of January 2023. It holds with the school’s expansive premises.

According to a statement issued by the National President of the school’s Old Boys’ Association, (LAGSOBA), Dr. Kayode Afolabi, the one-day event will feature schools debates; lectures, symposia and cultural displays.

Afolabi stated that the programme will be another opportunity for all old boys to come together and share ideas that will make the school greater.

He explained that the keynote address will be delivered by the President-General of the Old Students’ Association, Professor Emmanuel Ajala, of the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, while the anniversary lecture will be delivered by a distinguished Old boy and a Director in the Federal Ministry of Education on the theme; “Effective Student Preparation as a Prerequisite for Success in External Examinations”.

The statement further said that the Chairman Board of Trustees of LAGSOBA, Colonel Bola Ogunsanwo will preside over the programme.

Lagelu Grammar School which was founded by the defunct Ibadan District Council on January 27, 1958 with 33 pioneer students in its temporary site in Agugu District Council School, Ibadan has been one of the foremost secondary schools in Nigeria and has churned out the best and leading manpower in all areas of human endeavors.
