All Progressives Congress’ gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin has described the party’s leader and presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the ‘Lionel Messi’ of Nigerian politics.
The Senator who is also the coordinator for APC Presidential Campaign Council in the state made this submission while speaking at a parley with members of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ in their Mokola, Ibadan office on Tuesday.
He said further, “as far as I am concerned if Asiwaju wins, I am going to be okay. That is why I am marketing him with all I have. In fact, I market him 80 per cent of the times when I go out. He is our Messi in APC. Once he scores, it is game-over for our opponents.”
Folarin then went ahead to say that the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima has been well embraced by the overwhelming majority of people in the 33 local government areas of Oyo state.
He equally expressed confidence that PCC in Oyo State would deliver at least two million of the 3.3 million votes available in the state to the presidential candidate of the party in the February 25 election, while also announcing that APC’s mega Presidential Rally would hold on Tuesday (February 7,2023) in Mapo, Ibadan.
While speaking about how he emerged as Oyo APC gubernatorial candidate, Folarin said “We did our primary election without any violence. If we hold our primaries ten times, I will still win. I am the most experienced.
“You see, I became a Senator at age 39, Senate Leader at 43 and I will be 60 this year by God’s grace. So, I have paid my dues and ready to take over the mantle of leadership in Oyo State.”
