The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 4,081 personnel for the general elections in Oyo State.
State Commandant, Michael Adaralewa stated this while addressing the deployed officers at the state headquarters of corps in Agodi Ibadan.
According to him, the deployment was done in line with the directives of the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi ahead of the elections coming up on Saturday.
Adaralewa, who reiterated the command’s readiness to provide adequate security of lives and properties and all electoral materials including INEC ad hoc staff during the elections, charged the officers of the corps to be patriotic and professional while discharging their duties during the election.
He, however, called on all critical stakeholders in the electioneering process in the state and the general public to jointly support INEC to ensure that the elections are free and fair.
