March’s Environmental Sanitation Exercise Holds On Saturday In Ekiti

The March monthly edition of Environmental Sanitation, is scheduled to hold on Saturday between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00am in the morning.

According to a Press Statement from the office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Babatunde Alokan, the statement charged all government employees to clean the surroundings of their offices on Friday, 24 March, 2023, before the close of work.

The statement stressed that there will be restriction of movements during the sanitation hours, except for those on official duties and students writing National Examination Council (NECO).

Alokan in the statement admonished traders in the various markets to use the opportunity to clean their shops and stalls, beseeching them to ensure that all wastes generated are properly disposed and not dumped inside drainages, while all markets in the state are to remain closed till after the exercise.

The Permanent Secretary however stressed that all State and Local Government Environmental Health Officers will be on ground to monitor the exercise and ensure strict compliance to restriction of movements as he enjoined all citizens to keep their environment clean.
