The Proprietor of Kharashi Centre for Quranic Memorization and Islamic Studies, Ustaz Luqman Kharashi Motala has identified patience, faith and trust as major factors that can facilitate quick response to supplications made to the Almighty God.

The Islamic cleric disclosed this while delivering lecture on ‘When & How to Supplicate Allah for Quick Response’ at the annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) held at BCOS Central Mosque, Ile-Akede, Ibadan.

He said that God answers prayers but the way and manner people have been doing the prayers is the major problem.

According to him, “all that would have been accepted -but it has been the ways people have been doing their prayers. We do not get ways and manners to do prayers, that has been our problem.

“Many of us do not know who our God is, how powerful He is? He is so much powerful and He can do everything, He has what you don’t even know that He has and He can give anything, so we have to look the ways we have been offering our prayers, we have to get it right at the right time.

“We have to do certain things that He asked us to do in terms of focusing on Him, honouring Him because when we want to ask for something from Allah, we shouldn’t seem proud, we shouldn’t dictate to Him and we shouldn’t be in a hurry and at the same time we should call Him with His beautiful names,” Ustaz Kharashi Motala said.

In his opening remarks, representative of the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Alagbe Tajudeen, pointed out that the purpose of our creation is to worship almighty Allah.

He said that youths in the country particularly those in schools should be properly monitored, noting that the way and manner they are running after money called for concerned.

Alhaji Tajudeen advised the congregation not to listen to the lecture alone, but also to make use of it and share it for the benefit of others.

Welcoming the people to the programme, Chairman of MMPN Oyo State, Alhaji Adebayo Abdur-Rofih, disclosed that the association was established over three decades ago with the intention of forming a unified force to cater for the needs of individuals and Muslims in general.

He maintained that the idea was also to strive to project Islam in the best way to the world through journalism profession.

“While we defend the course of Islam in every way possible by using our profession to shake-off unwarranted blemish that may be championed against the religion by the enemies.

“This year’s Ramadan lecture with the topic, ‘When and How to Supplicate Allah for Quick Response’ was carefully selected, putting the rate at which people run helter-skelter in search of fortunes without exercising patience into consideration.

“Today’s societal challenges have turned several people including Muslims to be looking for outcome from unwholesome corners where their faith is not only made to suffer but also exposed them to untimely death.

This year’s Ramadan lecture was attended by the National President of MMPN, Alhaji Abdulrahman Balogun, Alhaji Hamzat Ladiran, Dr. Bayo Busari among others.
