Accord’s Oyo South Senatorial candidate in Oyo State, Hon Kolapo Kola-Daisi has joined others to mourn the demise of a former chairman of Shooting Stars Sporting Club of Ibadan, Pa Olayiwola Lakondoro aged 111yrs.
In a special statement on Thursday personally signed by the politician, the deceased was described as “a prominent political mentor and father who lived a long and distinguished life”.
Kolapo continued “In my time knowing Baba, it was always enriching to draw from his well of wisdom and insight. His influence on his mentees and followers will remain remarkable, and his absence will be deeply felt.
“As we mourn his passing, I urge that we also celebrate and honor Pa Lakondoro’s contributions to the betterment of his community and this state, particularly his beloved constituency of sports development, where he oversaw affairs at Shooting Stars FC as a former chairman.
“My thoughts are with Baba’s immediate family at this difficult time, and I hope that we all take comfort in knowing how much he was loved and respected by many”.
Pa Lakondoro has since been buried at Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State with several 3SC supporters and management of the club in attendance.
