Nigerian striker, Terem Moffi will aim to take his Ligue 1 tally to 40 when OGC Nice takes on Toulouse at the Allianz Riviera stadium on Sunday.
Nice have got the better of Toulouse of late, unbeaten in their last five Ligue 1 matches (W2 D3 L0) while Toulouse are looking for their first league win in encounters between the two sides since February 2018.
Moffi has scored 39 Ligue 1 goals since arriving France in 2020 and he is also eager to help Nice secure Conference League qualifying spot for next season.
The 23-year-old who started off his Ligue 1 career with Lorient after joining from Belgian club KV Kortrijk the same year scored 14 goals in 32 league games in his debut season for the club.
He was not as prolific as his debut season as he notched only eight goals in 37 due to injury. So far this season, the Nigeria international has scored 17 times for playing for Lorient and OGC Nice. The first half of the season saw the former Buckswood Football Academy star 12 goals ā a rich vein of form that saw Nice pay ā¬30m for him in January.
At Nice, Moffi has scored five league goals in 13 games as well as scoring three times in four Europa Conference League games.
Speaking with our correspondent, the Super Eagles striker said he is focused to help his team qualify for European competition next season.
āObviously every striker thinks about winning the Golden Boot, but at the moment, I am more focused on helping my team win games and we try to achieve European football next season,ā Moffi told PUNCH Sports Extra.
āOur collective goal right now is we want to win games and reach the Europa Conference league finals and qualify for next yearās European Conference League or even the Europa League.ā
The Les Aiglons are 10th on the French Ligue 1 table with 51 points and with three games left to play they trail fifth-placed Lille by nine points for a spot in the Conference League qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Moffi has emerged as one of the top three contenders for the prestigious Marc-Vivien FoƩ award.
