Italian Serie A side, AC Milan, are ready to splash €30m on Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze, this summer.
Chukwueze’s current deal at Spanish side Villarreal runs out June 2024 and the club is reportedly waiting for a reasonable offer so they can cash out on the Super Eagles winger.
Before the end of last season, there were reports that Spanish giants, Real Madrid, were also interested in signing the Nigerian.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the management of AC Milan are big admirers of the winger, who scored 13 goals and added 11 assists in 50 games for Villarreal across all competitions last season, which impressed the Italian giants.
It remains to be seen where Chukwueze will feature next season but it is expected he would make a great addition no matter the league he opts for.
As a result of his impressive performances last season, the 24-year-old’s asking price could well be over €30m with the risk of an auction starting.
A new meeting between Milan and Chukwueze’s agents is possible in the coming days, with the hope that the new management can convince the Nigerian of their project.
Recently, Villarreal manager Quique Setien admitted that the Super Eagles forward could leave this summer and a figure of around €40m was quoted for the player.
However, Chukwueze has said that he doubts the veracity of those reports.
“People are always going to talk. I only think about Villarreal. I don’t read what they put on social media. That doesn’t matter. What matters is the moment,” Chukwueze told Panenka.
