The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has announced the principal officers for the running of the 10th Assembly.
Hon. Ogundoyin made the announcement on Tuesday during the first plenary of the 10th House of Assembly in the state.
According to the Speaker, Hon. Salami Ayinde representing Irepo/Olorunsogo state constituency is the Minority Leader, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola from Atiba state constituency will be the Chief Whip, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi representing Ibadan South West state constituency is the Deputy Chief whip, while Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola from Egbeda state constituency is the Deputy Majority Leader.
It will be recalled that during the inauguration of the 10th House of Assembly on 14th June, 2023 by the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the elections of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker have been conducted, while the announcement of the House Majority Leader has been made.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly has announced Hon. Peter Ojedokun representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North as the Chairman of the ad-hoc Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
This followed the dissolution of all the standing committees and the ninth House of Assembly.
The Committee according to Hon. Ogundoyin is to spearhead all pending issues as regards the suspended local government chairmen activities in the state.
The Speaker asked the Adhoc Committee to report back to the House on Thursday.
Members of the Committee include Hon. Oladeji Oparinde (Afijio), Hon. Tunde Kehinde (Akinyele 2), Hon. Gabriel Babajide (Ibadan North 2), Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin (Ogbomosho South) Hon. Dele Adeola (Iseyin/Itesiwaju) and Hon. Akande Opeyemi.
