Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has reportedly arrived at Napoli’s summer training camp in Castel Di Sangro to hold talks with representatives from the club over a contract renewal even as the Partenopei rejected a mind blowing €130 million offer from Saudi Arabia’s side, Al Hilal.

Last season, Osimhen scored an impressive 31 goals in all competitions including 26 in the Serie A as Napoli clinched the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

According to Football Italia, Napoli have been in close contact with Calenda all summer, as they are hopeful of keeping hold of the 2022-23 Serie A top goalscorer for as long as possible.

First, there were discussions when the team were based in Dimaro earlier in pre-season, and now, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, there will be a new round of talks amid interest from a rash of top European clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis (ADL) has rebuffed interest for the Nigerian international with words rife that he would only listen to an offer upwards of €150m.

Osimhen is currently contracted to Napoli until the summer of 2025, where he currently earns around €4.5m per season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported earlier in the week that Napoli are prepared to offer a new deal worth somewhere between €7m and €7.5m annually.

But at the weekend, Al Hilal were also linked with a move for Osimhen but several Italian outlets claimed the offers from the Saudi Arabia’s side have been rejected

According to l Mattino (via TMW) Osimhen is indeed close to signing a new contract and Aurelio de Laurentiis will not sell him this summer.

“Al Hilal’s interest from the Middle East is rather firm and they offered €130 million to Napoli and De Laurentiis for Osimhen. But it was rejected right away by De Laurentiis, who values his striker at €200 million and that is a figure which is out of reach for even Paris Saint-Germain,” it was said.
