Following his visit to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Headquarters in Abuja, popular Nigerian entertainer, Naira Marley has made his first statement.
The agency announced on Thursday that the singer paid a courtesy visit to express support for its continued fight against illicit substance abuse.
Naira Marley was received by the agency’s Chairman/Chief Executive Officer Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) and its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi were captioned on camera with his team.
In the latest post, on the federal law enforcement agency’s X handle, the 32-year-old “Coming” singer was captured in a video dissuading his controversial fan base and the generality of Nigerian youth to quit drugs.
The singer, captured in a video, could be heard urging fans and all Nigerian youths “to stop doing drugs because it isn’t good for their wellbeing.”
He said: “I will like to urge my fans, the Marlians and all the Nigerian youth to stop doing drugs because it’s not good for your wellbeing.”
“Let us stop substance abuse in any form. I have keyed into this campaign to support NDLEA to stop drugs on the street.
“Please join us. It’s really not good. It makes you go back to crime. It does a lot of things to you. Thank you very much.”
