The Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has paraded a suspected rapist, Isiaka Hammed for defiling an 11 years old girl.
The Commandant of Corps, Dr. Michael Adaralewa disclosed this in a statement while parading the suspect, age 39, a native of Saare Ilorin, Kwara State at the Command Headquarters of the Corps at Agodi, Ibadan.
The suspect, according to NSCDC committed the offence on 9th of August 2023 at his residence in the Osungbade area of Molete Ibadan.
The suspect, who admitted to the crime, said that he raped the girl when her mother, a food vendor within the neighborhood asked the girl to take soup to Isiaka at home, where he forced the girl and defiled her.
Commandant Adaralewa said that the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Protection Unit of the Command arrested the suspect at Popo area of Ibadan South West on the 17th of August 2023 after the mother of the girl reported the case to NSCDC.
He stated further that the case would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation.
The NSCDC boss used the medium to appeal to parents and guardians to always protect their children, especially the female child in order not to be victims of the wicked ones around.
He also enjoined the public to always furnish the corps with credible information whenever they see anything unlawful in their vicinity.
“If you see something, always say something,” he charged.
