Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface, has been named Bundesliga rookie of the month for August.
This was made known by Bayer Leverkusen through their X handle formerly referred to as Twitter.
Boniface, 22, beat off competition from Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig and Noah Atubolu of Freiburg.
Boniface has enjoyed an impressive start to life in the Bundesliga since his move to Bayer Leverkusen in the summer from Union St-Gilloise.
The Nigerian has scored four goals and recorded two assists in three Bundesliga games since his arrival at Bayer Leverkusen.
He bagged a brace against RB Leipzig, before repeating the same feat against Darmstadt.
The 22-year-old is also in the running for Bundesliga’s August player of the month award.
