Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Terem Moffi is in the running for Ligue 1 Team of the Week.
The Nice striker is in the running for the Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels Player of the Month for September 2023 – an award that recognizes the best Ligue 1 player each month of the season.
Moffi has been shortlisted for the award alongside former Chelsea goalkeeper, Marcin Bułka (OGC Nice) and Ajax-reared glovesman, Marco Bizot (Stade Brestois).
The 24-year-old scored three goals and registered one assist in OGC Nices’ 2-0 victory against Strasbourg.
Moffi followed up with a brace in Les Aiglons’ 3-2 away win against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc de Princes.
Moffi joined Nice from another Ligue 1 club Lorient in January.
Moffi is aiming to follow in the footsteps of John Utaka (February 2006), Vincent Enyeama (October and November 2013) and Victor Osimhen (September 2019) who have all won the UNFP Player of the Month award in the past.
He is currently on international duty with Nigeria for the friendlies against Greens of Saudi Arabia and Mambas of Mozambique.
