The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has commended Ogun Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB), as one of the best states that provided outstanding accommodation for pilgrims during the 2023 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The commendation was contained in a letter, signed by the Acting Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, NAHCON, Mal. Jalal Arabi, and addressed to the Executive Secretary Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Salau Dauda, which read in part, “I have the pleasure on behalf of the Staff and Management of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), to commend your Board’s outstanding performance during the 2023 Hajj operation”.
“I am pleased to convey that your Board came third as the state with best accommodation (Ajyad zone), among other states of the Federation in your zone”.
Mal. Arabi, according to Mrs. Lateefhat Ayoola, Press Officer OGMPWB urged the Ogun not to rest on its oars but keep the flag flying, in order to achieve more success in future Hajj operations.
Responding to the new development during a meeting with other management staff of the Board, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Alhaji Dauda, expressed profound gratitude to almighty Allah for the 2023 Pilgrimage, commending the present administration for the unflinching support to the Board which resulted in the successful Hajj operation.
He appreciated NAHCON for the recognition, expressing the Board’s commitment to surpass its last performance by providing more conducive accommodation for the pilgrims during 2024 Hajj exercise.
