The late governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has been described as a shining example of an ideal leader.
The family left behind by a former governor of Oyo State, Alhaji (Dr) Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina made this submission in a statement made available to PMParrot on Wednesday evening while reacting to the news of the demise of the one-time President of the Nigerian Bar Association.
The family described the death of the legal luminary cum politician as a great loss to Nigeria and Nigerians.
In the special statement signed by the scion of the late politician, Dr Ayobami Wasiu Lam-Adesina, the family said “the departure of Aketi will be felt by not only our politicians but by Nigerians. This is because he was silently re-directing politicians towards the path of being upright and law-abiding. He abhorred illegality and preached decency in all ways.
“We believe he developed his sense of decency from Loyola College, Ibadan just like our late Dad who also attended the same secondary school.”
Ayobami Lam-Adesina continued “It was a sad development. We pray for the family, the political family, the people of Owo, the people of Ondo State, South West progressives and even those of us close to him in Ibadan and Nigeria in general. May his soul rest in peace.
Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, according to a statement from his family died peacefully in his sleep on his hospital bed in Germany on Wednesday morning.
