The journey towards a brighter future for Ibadan South East local government and victory for the PDP candidates has started as the re-election bid of the incumbent chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Alawode/Ogundeji received major boost with the public endorsement of his candidacy and that of other PDP candidates by the entire members of the Community Development Council (CDC) in the said local government area.
In a demonstration of community engagement and political unity, Hon. Emmanuel Alawode popularly known as “Arole Omituntun” accompanied by the Director-General of his central campaign council, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, the PDP Chairman, Engr. Sulaiman Adesina, the party leader, Alhaji Tiamiyu Abidikugu, PDP leaders, stakeholders and all other members of the campaign council visited the Community Development Council association during their meeting held at conference hall, Mapo, Ibadan to seek their support and blessings as the party kicks off its campaign ahead of the council poll slated for April 27, 2024.
While endorsing the PDP candidates, the Chairman CDC Ibadan/Ibarapa, Alhaji F.A.S. Oloyede and all the community leaders comprises of 84 registered landlords/landladies association highlighted the exemplary leadership and positive impact Hon. Alawode administration has had within the various communities since he came on board.
According to Alhaji Oloyede, “Hon. Alawode has recorded numerous laudable projects from infrastructural development projects to community welfare programmes, his track record of service and dedication to the betterment of the community cannot be underestimated.
“Therefore it would be a disservice not only to God but to humanity and Governor Seyi Makinde led administration if we as the community fail to vote for all the PDP candidates in the coming election. In our own estimation, Governor Makinde has scored 99% and had there been a room for a third term in office, he would have conveniently secured the support of the entire communities in the State.” Alhaji Oloyede affirmed.
The CDC Chairman, Alhaji Oloyede then pledged the support of all the entire communities for the re-election of Hon. Emmanuel Alawode, his vice-chairman, Hon. Teslim Ogundeji and all the 12 Councillorship Candidates in the coming election.
In his remarks, Hon. Emmanuel Alawode affirmed his commitment to continue these efforts to further elevate the standard of living of the entire residents in the council, with a promise to do more than what he is presently doing in his first term.
While responding to some of the requests made by the CDC, the Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Alawode pledged that his first project when he assumed office for the second term will be to complete a community police station at Adeyemo area that the community has embarked upon for a long time. He also promised to build a health centre at ward 4 among other projects which he intends to embark on in his second term.
In their different remarks, the Director-General of the campaign council, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, PDP Chairman in Ibadan South East local government, Engr. Sulaiman Adesina and one of the prominent leaders, Alhaji Tiamiyu Abidikugu appreciated the Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and the Party’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja for given Hon. Alawode and Hon. Ogundeji the chance to stand as the party’s standard bearer again.
They appreciated the love and endorsement given to all the party’s candidates by members of the community associations and urged them to mobilize residents in their various communities to vote for all the PDP’s candidates in the entire 33 local government areas.
Highlight of the meeting was the special prayers offered by the CDC Chairman, Alhaji Oloyede for all the candidates in Ibadan South East local government ahead of the coming elections.
