On Monday, both Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola and his wife, Alhaja Mariam Oluwabukola Abeke Daud will be installed as Aare and Yeye Aare of Ibadanland by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan of Ibadanland at his Alarere, Ibadan residence.

The Olubadan made this known in a press statement through his Personal Assistant (Media), Oladele Ogunsola and which was made available to journalists in Ibadan on Saturday.

The new Aare of Ibadanland is currently the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo & Delta States and the new honorary title to be bestowed on him was in recognition of his support and commitment to the growth, progress and development of Ibadanland.

According to Oba Balogun, “the titles are being conferred on the couple in recognition of their numerous contributions to the growth, progress and development of our land, adding, “over the years, they have been known as very successful business family through which uncountable number of people have risen.

“Their philanthropic gestures are very noticeable, their being available for every worthy and noble cause of our land and the robust religious leadership provided since the husband’s appointment as the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta States are some of those things considered in bringing them this additional honour.

“To whom much is given, much is expected. It is hoped that this new titles being conferred on them would spur them not only to remain steadfast in all the good deeds they have been identified with, but to do more and it is my prayer that the Almighty Allah, who has been their solid rock would not abandon them”, Olubadan stated further.
