Bishop (Dr) David Ademola Moradeyo, the Chairman, Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Christian Wing) has described the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Mohood Olalekan Balogun as  a covenant keeper.

He further stated that the late monarch was instrumental to the upgrade of the Olubadan traditional council, elevation of High chiefs to beaded crown wearing Obas and the installation of 20 Baales to Obas in Ibadanland while affirming that history can never forget his reign as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The Methodist Bishop stated this in a statement made available to PMParrot on Thursday in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo state.

The Engineer-turned clergyman added, “Let me give my kudos to the late Oba Balogun and the incoming Olubadan, Oba (Major) Owolabi Olakulehin for driving the template together for the promotion of Ibadan traditional council. “I mourn the passage of a covenant keeper and I believe that Ibadanland will forever acknowledge the contributions of Oba Balogun to the uplift of the traditional institution in the city and indeed, Oyo State”.

The Bishop later commiserated with the family as well as sons and daughters of Ibadan land while urging them to take solace in God.

The late Oba Lekan Balogun has since been buried at his Aliiwo ancestral home in Ibadan, according to Islamic rites.
