Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland, Arc. Hassan Giwa has charged Muslims to uphold the ethics and principles of Islam as demonstrated during the holy month of Ramadan.
The founder of an Ibadan-based non-governmental organization, Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, in his Eid-el-Fitr message from the holy land of Saudi Arabia, where he is performing Umrah (lesser hajj), urged Muslim faithful to continue to be of good behavior, peace lovers and cheerful givers as exhibited in the whole of 30 days of Ramadan.
While congratulating the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiyy Agbotomokekere and Council, Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, Delta and Kwara States, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu (Onimalu) Oladejo, Babaasale Musulumi of Ibadan land, Chief Nureni Akanbi and other notable Islamic leaders and scholars in Ibadan Oyo State and Nigeria at large, Arc Giwa noted that Islam is a religion of peace, therefore, appealed to them to continue to maintain peaceful coexistence, pray for peace, progress, and development of the country.
“Ramadan has come and gone but Islam is not a seasonal religion. As Muslims, during Ramadan, we have exhibited principles and doctrines of Islam associated with it as recommended by Prophet Muhammed (SAW) in the holy Quran. We observed our fasting, we performed our daily Salah (prayers), we gave our Sadaqah (voluntary charity) and other good deeds recommended in the Quran to the less privileged in the society, let us maintain all these good characters after Ramadan.
“We have been peace loving people to our fellow people from other religious doctrines; let us continue to maintain peaceful coexistence, pray for the peace, progress and development of our dear country, Nigeria.
“I am using this occasion of Eid-el-Fitr to congratulate my father, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiyy Agbotomokekere and all his council members, Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, Delta and Kwara States, Dawud Akinola, Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu Oladejo, Babaasale Musulumi of Ibadanland, Chief Nureni Akanbi, all Muslim leaders and scholars in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
“I also felicitate with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wish them Allah’s guidance and blessings,” Arc Hassan Giwa prayed.
