Nottingham Forest defender, Ola Aina has dismissed the idea that the Tricky Trees could go down at the end of the season after their 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday sunk them deeper in the relegation mire.

The Tricky Trees were unbeaten in their last three games before a loss at Tottenham last time out.

Forest narrowly escaped relegation last year in their first EPL season after 23 years in the Championship, and Aina, who was part of the team that helped steer them to safety, remains confident they will bounce back to winning ways.

“I don’t see the team going down,” Aina told the Nottingham Post.

We’ve had a difficult season by our standards, but I very much expect us to improve in our next game.

“More importantly, it’s about playing well and trying to get a result to stay up.”

Aina has made 17 EPL appearances, scoring once and making one assist.

It’s been a topsy-turvy season for Nottingham Forest, and they currently sit 17th on the EPL log, level on points with Luton Town but with a superior goal difference.

Forest will host Wolves, Manchester City, and Chelsea, but have huge away games against relegation rivals Everton, Sheffield United, and Burnley in their remaining EPL fixtures for the season.

Meanwhile, the Forest Reds are also awaiting the result of an appeal against a four-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules, which could yet have a huge say in who goes down at the end of the season.
