In anticipation of the upcoming Local Government election in Oyo State scheduled for April 27th, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) recently convened a strategic Management Meeting at the State Command headquarters.
Commandant Augustine Padonu led the briefing had top officials including Heads of Department, Area Commanders, and Divisional Officers engaged in brain storming sessions and they also discussed crucial security measures.
During the meeting, Commandant Padonu emphasized the NSCDC‘s pivotal role in ensuring a secure environment for the electoral process.
He directed Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to initiate security operations within their jurisdictions, highlighting the importance of upholding peace and security during the election period.
“The NSCDC is committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct and professionalism,” stated Commandant Padonu, stressing the organization’s dedication to fostering a secure and fair electoral atmosphere.
Discussions during the Management Meeting covered various topics, including security preparedness, coordination with stakeholders, and strategies for ensuring the safety of citizens during the election.
DSC Samuel Opebiyi, the Public Relations Officer of NSCDC, Oyo State Command also reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding the democratic process and collaborating with relevant authorities for a successful election.
With the NSCDC’s proactive measures in place, Oyo State residents can expect a secure and peaceful Local Government election on April 27.
