Nigeria’s Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi is set to sign a three-year contract to extend his stay at Premier League club, Leicester City.
Ndidi, whose previous contract expired at the end of last month, was previously linked with clubs in Turkey, France and Spain.
The defensive midfielder has now agreed to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium after extensive talks with new manager Steve Cooper.
“Wilfred Ndidi, set to sign new deal at Leicester City as final details are being discussed — then all sealed,” reliable transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano wrote on X.
“Exclusive details: contract until June 2027, three year deal… with release clause also included.
“Despite more than 5 bids, Ndidi decides to stay and sign #LCFC.”
The 27-year-old joined Leicester City from Belgian Pro League outfit KRC Genk in January 2017.
He has scored 11 goals in 224 appearances for the former Premier League champions.
