Rangers head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu can’t hide his excitement following his appointment as assistant to Nigeria’s Super Eagles caretaker coach, Augustine Eguavoen.

Ilechukwu and his Remo Stars counterpart, Daniel Ogunmodede, were confirmed as assistants to Eguavoen by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday.

The 44-year-old, who won the best coach of the season following his performance with Enugu Ranger, previously had a stint at the U-23 level, where he served as one of the assistants to Imama Amapakabo.

The former Plateau United and Heartland coach took to social media to celebrate his appointment.

“A call to serve Nigeria and an opportunity for more hard work, and we will never take this for granted. Thank you for the good wishes and the congratulatory messages. I’m humbled,” Ilechukwu wrote on X.

He arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Uyo on Monday.
