Filmmaker and actor, Femi Adebayo’s film ‘Jagun Jagun’ has clinched three awards at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
The film won Best Male Actor in Supporting Role, Achievement in Visual Effects, and Achievement in Makeup.
This comes after being nominated in seven categories.
‘Jagun Jagun’ tells the captivating story of Ogundiji, a feared warrior, and his struggle for power and justice against a young warrior named Gbotija.
The film also won Best Indigenous Language Movie (West Africa) and Best Costume Design at the 2024 African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
(The WARRIOR) – a Netflix Original Movie, won three awards at the 2024 AMAA AWARDS, in the following categories:
“Best Male Actor in A Supporting Role, Achievement in Makeup, Achievement in Visual Effects.
“Truly Blessed to experience this amount of recognition and I’m proud of the work we put in while creating this project. My appreciation goes to AMAA awards for the recognition and my ever-vibrant JAGUN JAGUN team for challenging me to deliver on the promise of this project. Other big winners at the AMAA awards include Nigeria’s “The Weekend” by Daniel Oriahi, which snagged four awards, and South Africa’s “The Queenstown Kings” by Jahmil X.T. Qubeka, which also took home four awards.
It’s worth noting that “Jagun Jagun” has been a global sensation, trending in the UK and 17 other countries, with over 2.1 million views in its first three days on Netflix.
