Shooting Stars Sports Club’s technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has expressed his team’s readiness for tougher challenges in the second round of the 2024/25 NPFL season.
Speaking after the team’s first training session after resuming from a short break, the tactician said the Oluyole Warriors would leave no stone unturned to have a positive campaign when the league resumes.
“I think we do not need anybody to tell us that it is going to be a very tough second round, even though the first round was equally challenging.
“Our position in the first round will surely attract a lot of challenges, but we have been able to tell our players, and I am sure they are aware of that too. Everything we need to do is to be on our toes, to make sure that we give in our best to ensure that we represent the team and the state very well,” stated the former Sunshine Stars’ sweat merchant.
The Oracle, as the highly revered coach is popularly called, spoke on efforts to get the grey areas noted in the first half addressed with the injection of fresh legs before the restart of the league.
“We are still on the move, and until we have the papers, we cannot yet say we have one. We are working on it but I’m sure very soon, by this weekend, we must have gotten a few fresh legs joining the team”.
The gaffer expressed happiness with the response of the players to the first training session after resumption from the break.
“I am very happy with the turnout of the players for today’s (Monday) resumption. Even though we are still expecting some of them, I must confess, I’m impressed with what I saw today,” added the former Remo Stars’ coach.
3SC is presently third of the league table with 33 points after 19 rounds of play.
