Honourable Ogunsua Gboyega Dixon (OGD), a prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifedore Local Government of Ondo State has joined others to mourn the demise of political icon, Pa Ayo Adebanjo.
In a special tribute made available to PMParrot on Sunday, Hon.Ogunsua described Pa Adebanjo as a colossus of courage, a statesman who wielded words sharper than a sword in defense of the oppressed, and a guardian of democratic ideals whose legacy is woven into the very fabric of Nigeria’s political history. “His life was a long and noble struggle, a relentless pursuit of justice and equity. He stood like an unyielding oak tree, providing shade and direction to generations of progressive minds. Even in the face of adversity, his voice remained firm, his principles unshaken,” OGD remarked.
He noted that Pa Adebanjo was not just a political leader but a moral compass whose unwavering stance on true federalism, good governance, and the rights of the Yoruba people set him apart.
“In an era where many leaders waver like reeds in the wind, Baba Adebanjo was a rock—immovable, resolute, and deeply rooted in the values that make a nation great. His words were not mere rhetoric; they were the fire that ignited consciousness and the light that guided many through the murky waters of Nigerian politics,” he added.
As the Yoruba nation dons the garments of mourning, OGD urged leaders and citizens to honor Pa Adebanjo’s memory by continuing the struggle he championed.
“This is not just a death; it is the transition of a sage, a man who carried the torch of Awolowo’s legacy with undying passion. Let us not allow that torch to dim. Let us ensure that his sacrifices were not in vain,” he charged.
Extending his deepest condolences to the Afenifere family, the Adebanjo family, and all who mourn this great loss, OGD prayed for the peaceful repose of Pa Adebanjo’s soul.
“The drums of mourning may sound, and the earth may receive the body of this legend, but his legacy will remain immortal. Though he now belongs to the ages, his spirit will continue to whisper wisdom to those who dare to dream of a just and prosperous Nigeria,” he concluded.
