The family left behind by one time governor of Oyo State, Alhaji (Dr) Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina has expressed condolences to the families, friends, and associates of the former Governor of the Old Oyo State, Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo and late Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, the Seriki of Ibadanland.

In a special statement signed and sent to PMParrot by the scion of the late politician, Dr Ayobami Wasiu Lam-Adesina, the family said that the departure of the two political giants is a great loss to Nigeria.

Dr Lam-Adesina specifically prayed for The Olunloyos, saying “your son, Dr Victor Omololu Olunloyo was a distinguished statesman, an extremely brilliant scholar who made Nigeria, Africa proud. May his soul rest in peace.

“May the Almighty God grant you the strength to bear this moment and comfort you with the knowledge that he lived a fulfilled life, a life that saw him adopting many as his children.”

In a similar a vein, the Lam-Adesina Family described the departure of Alhaji Yekini Adeojo to the great beyond as very saddening.

“Alhaji Adeojo was one Ibadanman that was always ready to do anything to promote the sprawling city. He can also be regarded as one of the most principled politicians ever produced by Nigeria.

Dr Lam-Adesina then used the opportunity to extend sympathies to the sons and daughters of Ibadanland on the occasion of the loss of both Dr Olunloyo and Alhaji Adeojo.

“These were very illustrious and committed Ibadan sons who really spent their lives promoting what the city stands for, they also made Oyo State and Nigeria proud. May their souls rest in peace,” the family concluded.
