Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde’s government in Oyo State through its Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade has tasked the newly recruited and converted staff of the Ministry to leverage their youthful opportunities in the course of service delivery in the Oyo State Civil Service.
The Commissioner gave this charge during an opening ceremony of a one day induction programme which held at the Film Theatre of the Ministry today for 14 newly recruited and 22 Converted information and public relations officers
He said, “There is no alternative to hardwork. The holy books magnified the importance on this.
According to the Septuagenarian, the newly appointed staff whose age falls between 25-35 years, are more advantaged to excel in their chosen career.
“You must be very painstaking and finicky in whatever you do. You must be inquisitive. I urge you to seize youthful opportunities with both hands, life is a moving train, if you don’t join it, it abandons you in the station.
While delivering a special remark, the Permanent Secretary, for the Ministry, Mr. Rotimi Babalola urged participants to do the right thing at the right time.
He also assured that the Head of Service; Mrs. Olubunmi Oni (mni) pledged give support to the ministry on anything relating to service and progress.
Also in her welcome address, the Director, Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilization, Mrs. Aboyede Ojo commended the Oyo State government for an unprecedented employment exercise which according to her surpasses those of previous administrations.
Never have we had it as good as that of the present Oyo state governor.” She said.
She also urged the participants to actively participate and engage with one another.
Highlights of the event included presentation of papers by different facilitators; Public Relations: Propaganda or Facts by Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Dr Sulaiman Olanrewaju ;Use of Modern Technology in Dissemination of Information Centre Technology by Director MICT, Engr. Raheemat Adabanija; Civil Service Ethics,Rules and Regulations by Director Administration and Supply, Mr.Olawale Olanrewaju; An overview of the Ministry and Job Description by the Director,Press and Public Relations, Mrs. Adebukola Bakare; Broadcasting Skills by Director, Public Enlightenment and Mass Mobilization, Mrs Aboyede Ojo.
