Eleven new private universities will get their licenses on Wednesday from the National Universities Commission, bringing the total number of licensed private universities in the country to 159.
This was disclosed in a notice sent to our colleagues in Abuja.
“The NUC will issue provisional licenses to 11 new private universities at the NUC auditorium by 3:00pm,” a short notice sent to our correspondent by the NUC said.

Others are Tonnie Iredia University of Communication, Benin City, Edo State; Isaac Balami University of Aeronautics and Management, Lagos and Kevin Eze, University, Mgbowo, Enugu State.
