The Chairman of Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Alh AbdulRahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has pledged his commitment to selfless services and fulfillment of campaign promises to the residents of the Local Government Area.

The Council Boss maintained that since his assumption of office for the second term, he has been able to use the little resources within his purview judiciously.

He highlighted that within one year in office, his administration has provided solar street lights to all the nooks and crannies  of the Local Government. This has helped in reducing nefarious activities being carried out by criminals in the night. Among the areas where the solar street lights were installed are Daily Times, Laskab, Abebi and environs.

Also, in his efforts to prevent flood within the Council area and the state in general, his administration embarked on dredging of Onireke  River at Agbarigo Area which has been  blocked for a long time. The blockage has prevented free flow of water. The dredging done will improve water flow, prevent flooding  and enhance economic  activities.

In addition, the Chairman stated that as a way of reducing unemployment among youths in the local government, his administration partnered with an NGO to train and empower  five youths on poultry  and fish farming.  The Chairman affirmed that arrangements are ongoing to partner with NIHORT to acquire a farmland for the local government to start its own farming projects. In addition, the council’s poultry, fish pond and goat/Ram rearing have been expanded to cater for the demands of staff  during the  festive  period  at a subsidized rates.

The chairman  further  maintained that  in the last one year, his administration has sustained  a peaceful, harmonious and conducive  environment  for residents  to live and engage in their daily activities  without  being  disturbed or harassed. The local government has been relatively calm. He commended the security operatives for their steadfastness and assured that his administration will not relent in providing necessary support  needed for effective security services. The Chairman added that his government has prioritised Community Engagement by fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness in governance, ensuring that residents’ voices are heard and valued.

The Council Boss urged residents to partner with his administration by providing feedback and support to enable his government to deliver on its promises. He assured the residents that his government would remain committed to serving their interests and promoting the development of the local government area.

The pledge, according to the Chairman is a testament to his commitment to good governance and determination of all his working cabinet to make a positive impact on the lives of the residents of Ibadan Northwest Local Government.
