    The cities of Ibadan and Lagos sparkled a little brighter with glamour as popular journalist and media entrepreneur, Dr Dele Momodu, marked his 65th birthday in grand style.

    Bob Dee, as Basorun Momodu is popularly called took his 65th birthday celebration to Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State where his Dele Momodu Leadership Center at Alalubosa GRA was commissioned by Osun State’s Governor Ademola Adeleke. Sir Shina Peters was also on the bandstand. The day was May 14th.

    On May 16th, Bob Dee hosted held a symposium at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs located on Victoria Island in Lagos. A lecture was delivered by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

    The symposium was also attended by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Osun’s Governor Ademola Adeleke, Bimbo Ashiru, Chairman of O’dua Investment Company, Sir Tunji Alapini, Chief Oyekunle Alex-Duduyemi, Chief Femi Adesina, Dr Reuben Abati and others.

    The 65th birthday activities then moved somewhere else on the Island.

    The party held on Victoria Island brought together a constellation of Nigeria’s most influential personalities, including business tycoons, governors, monarchs and diplomats.

    The birthday boy, clad in black regal traditional attire, made a glowing entrance accompanied by his radiant wife, Bolaji, and their son.

    One of the most heart-warming moments of the evening came when Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, who also clocked 65 within the week, joined the celebrator on the dance floor. The two bosom friends exchanged warm pleasantries before bursting into energetic dance moves, causing a loud cheer among the guests.

    A small documentary revealing the immersive work of the celebrant was also showcased at the party.

    Another highlight of the party was when Momodu, surrounded by family, cut a golden-hued birthday cake, symbolising both elegance and achievement.

    Another memorable moment came when music-superstar, David Adeleke, aka Davido, made a surprising entrance with another artiste, Zlatan Ibile. Dressed casually but stylish, Davido headed straight to greet his uncle, Governor Adeleke, before prostrating himself in respect for Momodu, who is also an uncle to his first baby mother, Sophia, who embraced him warmly.

    Notable guests at the event included Chief Razaq Okoya and his wife, Shade. The billionaire industrialist also offered a heartfelt prayer for Momodu, praising his journey and commitment to the nation.

    Other guests were the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams; wife of the Ooni of Ife, Olori Ronke Ogunwusi, the First Lady of Ogun State, Bamidele Abiodun; former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Sir Gbenga Olunloyo Kapoor, Special Adviser to the Akwa Ibom Governor, Mike Effiong, Azuh Arinze and many others.

    The evening was also punctuated with music from the juju music legend, Ebenezer Obey, whose soulful melodies and lively rendition of his hits kept the vibe alive.
