The principal of one of Ibadan’s elitist secondary schools, Sacred Heart College, Ring Road, Dr Michael Domingo has commended vibrant financial institution, Fidelity Bank for constantly supporting growth of education especially by providing conducive environment for young Nigerian girls and boys to study.
Reverend Father Domingo gave the commendation at an event to mark the end of the school’s academic year on Sunday, August 27, 2025.
According to the erudite scholar, Fidelity Bank is one of the financial institutions that cares about the growth of Nigeria’s education sector.
His words “year in, year out, Fidelity Bank ensures provision of food items and other support for so many schools in Nigeria including ours.
“As a matter of fact, I can say here categorically that the toilet we have at our ultramodern hostel was provided by Fidelity Bank. Today as we are holding our end of academic year activities, we have been empowered by the bank to give out prizes to our outstanding students. So, I will encourage parents and guardians to open accounts with the bank to further encourage the institution to do more for education in Nigeria. The government and other bodies including religious bodies like ours cannot do it alone. Nigeria’s education sector needs to be radically transformed to protect the nation’s future.”
While addressing the outgoing students, Dr Domingo said “be good ambassadors of our school. Always hold on to God, keep the spirit high and maintain culture of hard work and decency. I know you will make us proud, you will make your parents too happy.”
Highlights of the day’s program included traditional dance by students, award of scholarships to extremely brilliant students and presentation of prizes.
