Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare, is top among the three targets of Serie A club Atalanta, as they search for players to replace Italy international Mateo Retegui, who made a switch to Saudi Arabia.

Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz and Nikola Krstovic are among Atalanta’s targets as well.

Atalanta are still looking for replacements for Italy forward Retegui, who completed a €65m transfer to Al Qadsiah.

According to Football Italia, La Dea’s priority remains Genk forward Arokodare, but it’s a pretty tricky deal.

Lecce star Krstovic is another name being discussed at the Gewiss Stadium. The Montenegro international is expected to leave this summer after scoring 19 goals in 54 appearances across his two-year spell at the Via del Mare.

Arokodare has been tipped to leave Genk this summer, but amid the transfer speculations surrounding him, the striker has resumed pre-season training with the club.

The 24-year-old has been linked with Burnley, Fulham, Bayern Munich and AC Milan.

However, Genk have previously confirmed they didn’t receive any offers for the Nigerian, but it remains to be seen what the remaining days of the summer transfer window hold.

Genk chairman Peter Croonen previously indicated that any transfer fee would need to exceed the €18m received from Southampton for Paul Onuachu in 2023.

With Arokodare’s stock rising, the club is believed to be targeting a fee of over €20m.

The Nigerian striker scored 21 goals for Genk last season across the regular campaign and play-offs, firing his team to a UEFA Europa League spot in the process.

In the meantime, Atalanta are also in talks with Inter over Ademola Lookman’s sale and, as revealed last week, Federico Chiesa is seen as a possible replacement for the Nigerian forward.
